The tuxedo jacket first appeared in menswear in the 1800s as an alternative to the tailcoat, and in 1975, Mr. Lauren sent his version for women down the catwalk. Crafted from a noble wool-and-silk blend sourced from a revered Como, Italy, mill, the slim-fitting Jannie jacket continues this heritage by merging a lightweight feel with a sleek, structured look. Exemplifying Mr. Lauren's dedication to fine American craftsmanship, this style is finished with hand-pickstitching, a meticulous technique also used to detail our men's Purple Label suits.
